Crime Victims First (CV1) launched the Step Up Now! campaign to increase awareness about Crime Victims’ Rights and to support the nonprofit through sustaining memberships. Our sustaining members provide us with a steady predictable source of income — which is vitally important to promote and protect crime victims’ rights and assisting in our program development and planning efforts. CV1 would like to thank the Stewart Law Firm and the Texas Bar Foundation for supporting this campaign.

I found this site in Texas after reading about one in another state. It is critical that we understand our rights. We must educate ourselves and hold officials accountable when it comes to victim’s rights.
Just as the 39 million Americans who were sexually molested as children, there is a pervasive cloud of shame that we have carried. And this shame is not ours. It needs to be understood that the predators are 100% responsible for hurting another person. It is never the victim’s fault; no matter how old or how young.
