Crime Victims First provides the following services & programs to anyone affected by criminal victimization regardless of circumstances (e.g. report crime or not and type of crime) and those working on their behalf. CV1 also receives and attempts to resolve a variety of “general” and “rights violations” complaints.

CV1 provides information and resources to increase awareness, access and understanding about crime victims’ rights, services, and programs to help anyone affected by criminal victimization.
CV1 provides access to information about your statutory and constitutional rights, phamplets, research/reports, template letters and forms. Documents & Forms
CV1 is working hard to implement our Online Education Program to provide access to our crime victims’ rights enforcement training curriculum, and to provide a variety of trainings.
CV1 is also available to do presentations or trainings on crime victims’ rights and enforcement.
CV1 offers services and programs that provide support and assistance.
CV1 offers the following victim services: crisis counseling, emotional support, assistance with CVC applications, justice support, consulting, personal advocacy, assistance with requesting rights, meetings, and final demand letters, connecting with local resources and making referrals.
CV1 also helps with voluntary actions steps (see Helpful Hints) for those eligible for crime victims’ rights to resolve complaints, ensure rights are afforded and to prevent rights violations.

CV1 is promoting and developing legal services to enforce crime victims’ rights and violations.
The goal is ensure your rights are afforded to you throughout a criminal case.
Legal services might include providing advice and representation. As a last resort, the following mandatory action steps including filing rights violations complaints, filing administration complaints, filing motions to appear to enforce rights violations, and writs might be considered.

Research shows that there are limited training and funding opportunities to achieve compliance with victims’ rights.
CV1 is working to secure the next wave of victims’ rights legislation – legislation that guarantees victims substantive rights and the procedural mechanisms to secure those rights.
CV1 is advocating for permanent funding.
